ST HIERITHA'S CHURCH
CHITTLEHAMPTON, DEVON
Seen in situ beside a small door to the right of the main entrance of the church of St Hieritha: a commemorative inscription to the memory of James Spurnay, servant of Caesar Giffard (1682-1715), who drowned with his master in the River Torridge.
The plaque bears the following inscription:
